Urban Lab 5 has been by far the most enjoyable module I have partaken in so far with the main task being to repurpose the Billingsgate Market due to it being re-located. We have had to make sure we incorporate both Canary Wharf as well as Poplar Market. The main skills to come out of Urban Lab 5 is being able to work coherently as a group as well as refining my design skills.
In relation to surveying, the large scale designing has given me a small insight to what works best for specific areas, for example the difference between London and Oxford as well as how the size of the site plays a huge part.
The project consisted of 3 main elements which are the following; Individual report, group report and thematic research. Please find these attached below. The thematic research has adequately prepared me for my dissertation in terms of how to properly research and the two reports have really boosted my confidence regarding designing as well as presenting my work to better standard using new software like InDesign and Illustrator.
