Historical context
This module showed us the importance of listed buildings as well as the different types of buildings were built in different eras.

Urban Diversity
Urban diversity was a more current module in which it highlighted real current issues regarding social exclusion in planning as well as other topics such as gentrification.

Sustainability and development
Moving into my second semester of first year, this module exemplified the importance of being sustainable in your developments which has increased my understanding of the importance of the co2 emissions as well as the environment.

Development processes
This module showed us the importance of site delivery and how context to a site is a significant part of the planning process. We were briefed with regenerating one town centre and we should ensure the context of the site was taken into place.

Mediating change
Mediating change had a heavy focus on the importance of involving the community in the planning stages in order to achieve the greatest outcome for those who live there

Place and policy making
Place and policy making was detrimental to understanding how areas were affected by local plans as well as the impact of the wider governmental plans put in place for the local councils.

Economic appraisal
Despite the many designing modules I had completed, this gave me a real insight on how and if the financial feasibility of a site would actually come to light as well as giving me a better understanding on how to use Excel.

Environmental decision making
Similar to plan and policy making, this gave a good account of how important it was to consider the environment when undertaking plans for new construction.

Research Methods
This module was very much focused on my research project and finding out about what I wanted to research as well as how I aimed to achieve this.

Strategic planning and policy
Similar to place and policy, rather than involving the community, this concerned itself more with the where rather than the who.

Professional practise
Lastly, this module is gave me what I am showing you today. It fully focused on my later life and my aspirations for my career and how to achieve them.

Contemporary debates
My final written module prepared me well for later life by showing us how to correctly debate and ways in which to argue your point which will be extremely beneficial in planning.
